My favorite apps for social media

As a small business owner, I am learning a lot about working smarter. I find that my posts are more consistent when I plan for them, rather than share whenever I remember (because a lot of times I don’t.) Thankfully, there are a lot of great resources to help you post and to create cohesiveness through your posts.

  • Planoly- It’s a perfect planning tool. I use my laptop to create my posts so I am using downloaded images rather than images that were screen shot from my phone. Hint from a photographer- don’t do that. The color is different and the quality is pooooor which makes the beautiful pictures you paid for not so beautiful. Once the pictures are uploaded, I can crop my image to make it an Insta friendly square, write my content, then mark the location and tag my hashtags. Finally, I set the time for when to post and move on to the next post. You can also post to your stories if you have preplanned content you want to share. There is a free and a paid version of Planoly so check out the features and see what works best for you!
  • Lightroom- I am a solid Lightroom user on both my computer and my phone. It is user-friendly and allows you to easily adjust the basic elements of your image for a clean, consistent look throughout your feed.
  • Unfold- The Unfold app is the perfect finishing touch for displaying your images on Instagram. I often use the templates as preview features on my stories, creating a professional look that I will then share in my highlights. Unfold offers a free option, but also has a reasonably priced subscription that gives more templates and fonts that are great for customization.
  • Record It- This app records video of what is happening on your phone screen, making it easy to share online galleries, new websites, or your favorite boutique items. You simply create the video, crop, and share on your favorite accounts.

And there you have it! 4 great apps that make running a business (and using social media) easier!

Have a great day, y’all!
